The City of Jackson presents it’s first Jackson Indie Music Week.

The City of Jackson presents the 2015 Jackson Indie Music Week (JIMW), January 11th – 17th at various venues throughout the capital city.

Quickly emerging as one of the most anticipated music festivals in Mississippi, the week-long event encompasses concerts, showcases, pop-up events, panels and parties all designed specifically for the Central Mississippi indie music scene. Starting off JIMW is Big Sleepy’s Rock Showcase featuring Kingfishers, Carlos Danger, Festivals, Empty Atlas, & FPIG.

The musical journey continues with diverse performances from the likes of cover singer Akami Graham, songwriter Cody Cox, underground lyricist Coke Bumaye, house music veteran D.J. Scrap Dirty, Rafiki Grover and the Paper Bisons.

Additionally, the “Kings of the South” Concert  featuring  Scarface, 8 Ball & MJG, and Juvenile  will be held at Thalia Mara Hall, Saturday, January 15th. The week will culminate with the 2nd Annual Hip Hop Awards Showcase.
