Yes, the world is taking notice and on February 22, 2015 at the Jackson Convention Complex, the Arts Alive Foundation and Savvy Lifestyle Magazine will recognize seven exceptional young professionals at the inaugural Young, Gifted & Empowered Awards.

Young, Gifted & Empowered honors individuals who are champions for and in the arts, business, philanthropy, education, innovation and leadership. Additionally, the honorees are between the age 25-45 and have demonstrated a noteworthy commitment to excellence and community service; a high level of character, leadership, and innovation through professional and personal growth.

The honorees are:

Stan Jones—Young, Gifted & Empowered Artist of The Year

Chinelo Evans—Young, Gifted & Empowered Educator of the Year

LaTasha Bibb—Young, Gifted & Empowered Innovator of the Year

Mayor Tony Yarber–Young, Gifted & Empowered Leader of the Year

Dr. Tonyatta Hairston—Young, Gifted & Empowered Entrepreneur of the Year

Dr. Larry & Dee Nixon—Young, Gifted & Empowered Philanthropists of the Year
