Every May since 2015, Allstate, the Steven James Agency has hosted the Old School Party With a Purpose to benefit  the local charity, Stewpot Community Services. This year the party will take place on Friday, May 25th at 8pm at the Railroad District (formerly known as Mardi Gras) located at 824 South State Street. .

Headlining this year’s fundraiser is Grammy Award winner rapper Kool Moe Dee. The Hip Hop legend will perform classics such as “The Wild Wild West”, “I Go To Work” and “How You Like Me Know.”

“This is our first year bringing in an artist . I think that’s a testament to how this event has grown and gotten bigger every year. People like to attend this party not just because it’s fun and something different, but  because they know the proceeds are being donated to a worthwhile cause,” said Steven James, CEO of the Steven James Agency. “Stewpot does so much in our community…I’m just glad to be able to do an event to support their efforts.”

DJ Kool Laid from WRBJ 97.7 FM, local promoter DJ Unpredictable 601 and DJ Phingaprint of BDAY 99.1FM  will all be on musical duties, spinning classics from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
